As long standing major sponsor of the Melbourne Marathon, Medibank wanted to create relevant experiences that targeted the needs of each participating member pre, during and post race, as well as drive advocacy for potential new members.
Starting with pre race, Medibank members picked up their dedicated race pack, providing them with essential race day items, including a branded singlet and wristband. During the race itself, Medibank were visible throughout the course with cheer squads and boost zones, helping runners feel part of a valued community. Upon finishing, Medibank members could enter the recovery zone (using there pre-distributed wristband to gain entry) where all their post race needs were met. Runners could refuel and rehydrate with supplements provided by brand partners, stretch off in the cool down zone, and receive a complimentary 10 minute massage, all whilst being entertained by live music.
In the non-members area, long time Medibank ambassador, Michelle Bridges, led short yoga sessions to help runners recover. The unique experience gave way to positive brand recall and new customer acquisition.
