To enhance Chadstone’s positioning as a cultural epicentre, they wanted to bring to life the Star Wars franchise during the July school holidays, providing unique and memorable experiences for shoppers. The campaign needed to entice families to visit the centre, drive late-night traffic, and encourage shoppers to stay longer.
Over the course of two weeks, a festival of Star Wars took over the shopping mecca with four key activation zones, catering for all ages. The main attraction included a life-sized replica of the film’s iconic X-Wing allowing fans to hop inside and grab a photo. This was followed by a Jedi training masterclass for kids, an augmented reality Jedi challenge for teens, and finally a fashion galaxy for the adults showcasing Star Wars inspired looks curated by six couture fashion brands. Supporting activity included static replica character statues, consumer promotions, and an in-centre quest map driving shoppers from one activation to the next.
