Planning for a major event with large crowds in the middle of a global pandemic comes with its fair share of challenges! But that didn’t deter Kia in their 20th year as the major sponsor of the Australian Open. The focus of the 2021 campaign was around launching the new Kia brand and continuing to elevate its brand perception.
With typical hands-on brand experience a no-go, we had to think differently and create a visual statement that stopped people in their tracks. The two-story structure made from container units had a car display focus on ground level and a 3D content series on the first level. The sequence of three pieces of content focused on the new brand, global ambassador Rafa Nadal, and the new to market Niro EV.
Additional pieces of activity included a hero car display in Garden Square, and the Kia VIK ceremony hosted by Todd Woodbridge with special guest appearances from Dylan Alcott and Nick Kyrgios.
